With nearly 30 years of judging and choreography experience, I will provide HIGHLY DETAILED routine feedback at a fraction of the cost of the average dance competition!
I have gone through training with multiple organizations and judged hundreds of competitions. I have sat and had thought provoking, candid conversations with judges from across the country. This, in tandem with being a coach, teacher, choreographer, and a former competitor, gives me a well-rounded perspective as a judge.
In a competition setting, judges are given seconds to write down a comment. This is not a lot of time to communicate the details needed as a coach/teacher to truly understand the feedback without leading to “guessing.” But at IDC, you submit a video(s) and I will be given the gift of pause & rewind. This will allow me to breakdown the feedback to the tiniest detail; and based on my opinion, exactly why that particular moment could be affecting the outcome of your performance.

“At 1:30: Girl on far left of screen is swinging her arm up, others around her are breaking/pushing through to the position. Boy on center, second row, is swinging arm up and focusing to the front, others around him are looking to the right. Girl on the right side of the screen, second window from the end, is in a neutral second and collapsing chest, while others around her have their feet in wide second and standing tall with a fully elongated spine.”

ADD ON OPTION #1:
Phone Consultation: $25/hour
You and I will go over the feedback together via Zoom or other video conferencing service providers. This will allow for immediate discussion, questions, and clarifications.
***This must be added at the time of initial consultation to guarantee the turnaround time quoted.
ADD ON OPTION #2:
In Person Consultation: $50/hour (saves $10/hour with this add-on; 2 hour minimum)
I come to you and do the cleaning with your dancers.
***This must be added at time of initial consultation to get discounted rate. If outside the Twin Cities Metro Area, mileage and any additional expenses; such as but not limited to, air fare and lodging are not included and will be additional to the service fees.
RECENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS….
Q: If I am a parent, but not a teacher or coach, will you still evaluate my dancer’s routine?
A: Absolutely! I just ask that you clear it with your coach/teacher/studio director first.
Q: There are words/comments that are consistently on my judges’ feedback. I thought I knew what they meant, but now I am not sure, will you help interpret?
A: Though not all judges use the same terms to communicate the same growth opportunity, I am fluent in “judge speak” and will do my best to help out!
Q: I don’t want a score; will you still provide feedback?
A: Yes! We will make note of that during your initial consultation
Q: Would you be willing to score based on a specific scoresheet used from a specific competition or state organization?
A: If you can provide me with a copy of the scoresheet or a website, I will use whatever scoring system fits your needs. This will need to be determined at initial consultation.
Q: I am a choreographer looking for feedback on how I can improve. Can I submit a routine?
A: Yes! During your initial consultation, we will make note of this and I will approach my feedback from that perspective.
