DANCER CHECK-IN: From Practice to Progress: Your #1 Dance Reflection Journal Prompt
A Dose Of Danspiration “Dancer Chek-In: #1 BEST REFLECTION JOURNAL PROMPT “From Practice to Progress: Your #1 Dance Reflection Prompt”
First, why, as a dancer, should I even keep a reflection journal?
1. Some practices, A LOT happens! Physically, mentally, and emotionally. Taking the time to jot down notes, corrections, and thoughts helps to process ALL that information.
2. By seeing the information on the paper, it can give you the opportunity to evaluate and come up with a plan of attack to change habits and improve quicker.
3. Through these moments of reflection and problem solving, we can find confidence in ourselves and in our ability.
How do YOU want to journal?
You can go as simple as a clearance notebook from Target or go all out with a Bullet Journal.
You can put your thoughts down as bullet points, illustrations, or as a solid stream of consciousness with run on sentences and spelling errors! It doesn’t matter how you do it, just DO IT and MAKE IT YOUR OWN!
Soooo IMO, The #1 Best Prompt:
“What Did I Learn Today?”
Whether it is at practice, a performance, or competition- whether it is good or bad, win or lose, there is always a lesson to be found in each day.
Use your reflection journal to help you to focus on your journey, keeping track of your growth because looking at your success AS A WHOLE and not just an end goal, allows you to see the merit in even the tiniest improvements!
